Brazilian Chestnut

Brazilian chestnut hardwood flooring, also known as Sucupira, is a hard, extremely dense exotic hardwood. It features brownish-red to tan color tones. Brazilian chestnut ranks at 3540 on the Janka scale which makes it more then double the hardness of Red Oak (1290). Brazilian Chestnut is also photosensitive, and with exposure to sunlight (UV light) will darken over time. Brazilian chestnut hardwood flooring is not as sensitive to UV light as Brazilian Cherry, so it will retain a more brown/tan overall color.
